Info for Patients
We are located at Western Hospital and offer a range of Tests & Procedures onsite for our patients and also offer other procedures in Western Hospital’s Cardio-Vascular Hybrid Theatre.
A GP must refer you to one of our Cardiologists before you can make a booking with us. Please speak to your GP or other healthcare professional before contacting us for an appointment.
Appointments

Our opening hours are 8.30 – 4.30 Mon – Fri
When attending our practice it is important that you bring your Medicare card, along with a pension or concession card and a health fund card if you are covered for private hospital.
Please also bring along a list of your current medications and if you have had any recent blood tests please arrange for your GP to forward a copy of the results to us prior to your appointment
If you are unable to attend your appointment we would appreciate if you could advise us as early as possible, so your appointment slot can be offered to other patients.
Referral
When seeing a Cardiologist it is a Medicare requirement that you have a CURRENT referral letter.
This applies to new patients and also ongoing patients to have an updated referral. Please check with our rooms if you are unsure.
GP referrals are valid for 12 months.
Billing
Western HeartCare is a private practice and our policy is that we do not routinely bulk bill. If this causes any financial difficulties you can discuss this with your GP or with the Cardiologist at the time of your appointment.
Payment in full at the time of your appointment is required. Your account will be sent to Medicare and you should receive your rebate into your bank account within 24 hours.
Please ensure your bank account details are registered with Medicare. If not please contact Medicare on 132 150.
